FLASH SIGN DEFENDER KATHERINE REYNOLDS
Elma, N.Y. (Thursday, January 2, 2014) – The Western New York Flash has announced that it has come to terms with defender Katherine Reynolds on a new contract. Reynolds will remain with the Flash for the 2014 season with the option of continuing into the 2015 campaign.
Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“I am really looking forward to another season with the Flash,” Reynolds said. “I truly love the team, coaches, and the organization. We had a great season last year but have one more goal to accomplish and I hope I can help bring the trophy back to Western New York next season.”
The upcoming season will be the Santa Clara product’s third year with Western New York, as she was a member of both the 2012 WPSL-Elite title and 2013 NWSL Shield winning teams.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue working with Katherine for another year,” Flash head coach Aaran Lines said. “Over the last two seasons it has been a pleasure to see her develop into one of the best outside backs in the NWSL and I’m proud that she will, again, be a member of our backline.”
Last season, the defender started in each of the Flash’s 24 games and was on the field for all but 27 minutes. In her 2,133 minutes played, Reynolds totaled three assists including a helper to Carli Lloyd in the Flash’s 2-0 semifinal win over Sky Blue FC.
