The Western New York Flash Academy continues to move in the right direction with the announcement of another collegiate-level coach, as Regan Steele will be joining the Western New York Flash Academy as Associate Head Coach for the Girls U11 team.
Steele is entering his second season as an assistant coach for the Canisius College women’s soccer team. Steele has a familiarity with the program, as he played for the men’s squad from 2009-12, captaining the team during his junior and senior seasons and was a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team Award Winner.
A native of New Zealand, Steele split time between the forward and back positions. He appeared in 69 games during his collegiate career, making 58 starts, while recording 21 goals.
He currently holds U.S. Soccer coaching qualifications, as well as several other soccer licenses from New Zealand.
Western New York Flash Academy Director of Teams Gary Bruce was full of praise for the recent addition to the Academy.
“Regan is one of the best young coaches in our region; one who strengthens our already high-caliber coaching staff. Adding Regan in a head coaching role further solidifies the coaching staff of the Flash Academy as the best in Western New York,” said Bruce. “We are sure he will be an asset to the Academy for years to come.”
