Angela Nicholas-Tolsma

Angela Nicholas-Tolsma joined the WNY Flash Academy in 2018. Nicholas-Tolsma serves as the head coach of the academy’s 02/03G ECNL-RL team.

A native of Tonawanda, N.Y., in addition to her duties with the WNY Flash Academy, Nicholas-Tolsma currently serves as the Head Women's Soccer Coach and Student Services Coordinator for the Medaille College Athletic Department.

In only two seasons at Medaille, Nicholas-Tolsma has begun to resurrect the women’s soccer program. In the three years prior to her arrival, the program had only one victory, an accomplishment that Nicholas-Tolsma would match only four games into her tenure as head coach. Flying right past that benchmark, the Mavericks captured three victories in 2018 and six victories in 2019.

Prior to joining Medaille, Nicholas-Tolsma spent four years as the head coach of the varsity girls soccer team at Tonawanda High School, leading the Warriors to a 49-18-1 record and an appearance in the Section VI Finals in 2015. She also spent eight years coaching with the Kenmore Soccer Club.

As a player, Nicholas-Tolsma was a five-year starter at the University at Buffalo, serving as the team’s defensive center midfielder and helping to lead the Bulls to the 2012 MAC Tournament.

She graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in French and a double minor in Education and Linguistics.

Nicholas-Tolsma and her husband, Mike, currently reside in Tonawanda, N.Y.
